I'm starting a new Doom/Doom II project, something I've always wanted to do. I'm recreating (through editing and adjustments, not just raw rebuild) The Ultimate Doom for Doom 64. There are already PSX Doom projects out there, finished, but this is more of a "how Doom would be if it was done Doom 64 style." It requires Doom 64 EX to run, which is free. Basically, it's going to be the first PC Doom but with the scarier atmosphere of Doom 64. I'll upload on the regular, it won't be a private project like Purgatory was.

Also, this should be done a hell of a lot faster than Purgatory, since it's almost a port with some modifications, instead of building geometry from scratch. There won't be any new guns or monsters, but I will be using everything available to Doom 64 (including the Nightmare monsters), and I might have new power ups or items. I will be taking advantage of Doom 64's scripting to bring about the proper atmosphere, so the game balance may be slightly altered as a result, although not drastically.

NOTE FOR TESTERS: All THINGS transferred from The Ultimate Doom's official iwad "doom.wad" are currently flagged for all difficulties. Only when all 9 maps are finished will I go back and correctly flag them, so balance may be a little off from iD Software's design. All additional THINGS added to the maps should be correctly flagged.

I need to come up with a name for this. I mean, it's just Doom 1, really. lol

The first Alpha will be up in a day or by next week. It's really just to see what the goal of the project is, as only the first few rooms are functional. I'll regularly update though, so people can test for bugs, give feedback on the "Doom64-nes" of it, etc.
